Als beste Freundin steht sie Danuta, gespielt von Karolina Lodyga, bei der Entscheidung zwischen ihrer Monschauer Affäre und ihrer Familie in Polen zur Seite. In ihrem Beruf ist die erfahrene Versorgungsassistentin bei einem heimtückischen Krankheitsbild gefordert: dem seltenen Brugada-Syndrom, das bei äußerlich gesunden jungen Menschen zum plötzlichen Herztod führen kann. Nicht nur Veras Intuition ist gefragt, sondern auch ihre Überzeugungskraft.

Pikanterweise auch noch in das Transparent einer Bürgerinitiative gegen die Gentrifizierung des Viertels gewickelt. Einer Initiative, in der sie beide aktiv sind.
